Comparing to what has been described in novels, Ah Nan feels that the situation is not the same in real life at all!

The two of them were almost glued together. Ah Nan’s clothes have long been taken off by that certain someone. However, the man who was pressing on top of her still had his undergarment on with a very loose top. It was still better than being fully naked like Ah Nan.

She shrank herself in bed, not daring to even move an inch. She didn’t know what else to say about the situation. When news came that the sound “came from the wedding chamber,” only then their faces turned white thinking that: Did the new bride managed to live through the wedding ceremony but not the wedding night? What a tragedy?!

Trivia:
→ I find this chapter quite funny —at least in the way I interpreted it 😂 When Ah Na referred to Su Wang as “Big brother”, she didn’t mean it in a literal sense. It’s more of a term used to address to someone who seems more superior and in some cases, it can be used in a casual way to simply just refer to a male who is older or the same age.

In Chinese, the term is written as dà gē ≪大哥≫. dà ≪大≫ means ‘big’ and gē ≪哥≫ means ‘brother’. Nowadays, people use that term to sound more hipster and cool. To note, the term could also be used to address gang leaders. When Ah Nan used that term, the tone of it sounded very gangster-y to me, as if she was bitterly mocking, “Big boss, why are you using such a serious face to do something so appalling like this?!” This really shows her modern soul because ancient noblewomen would never use such ‘gangster’ language to their husbands, even if they’re just silently cursing to themselves.
